Wellbeing, Nature Connection, Women's Circles.
Inspired by a deep love of Nature and a desire to share the practices that have supported my own wellbeing.
From Fragmentation to Wholeness.
From Disconnection to Connection.
Modern Society creates disconnection.
Disconnection from our own intuition (our inner knowing), from our spiritual nature, from each other and from the spiritual sustenance of the land we live on.
Our ancestors understood that we are all connected in a great web or field of energy. They knew the profound benefits of honouring this connection; to other humans, to other creatures, to he land, to the seasons and to the vast power moving within and between everything.

I find my healing in the woods, but I have to go alone
For the company I seek there, is moss and tree and stone.
There's a part of me that opens when I walk among the trees, there's a kinship that's unspoken, just whispered on the breeze.
However hurt or broken, there's a healing that takes place, when I walk in timeless wonder in this very special place.

Creativity has the power to Heal.
Whether it's painting, crochet, weaving, collaging or sculpting, the act of being creative has the power to put us in touch with our inner landscape and emotions.
Creativity switches on the Parasympathetic nervous system producing feelings of calmness and stimulating feel good chemicals to be released in the brain.
Working with our hands gives our minds a chance to rest and relax, allowing us to creatively problem solve and process experiences.
Painting as a medium can be very freeing as it allows you to work in both an intuitive and expressive way, getting in touch with your feelings and bringing them out of your body and onto paper.
This can be deeply healing as all your feelings are acknowledged and
welcomed.

The Circle is an ancient form that our ancestors held in deep reverence.
Humans have been probably been gathering in circles since we first walked on the Earth.
The Circle holds so much inherent power.
It is both container and protective boundary.
"Everything an Indian does is in a circle, and that is because the power of the world always works in circles, and everything tries to be round. In the old days when we were a strong and happy people, all our power came to us from the sacred hoop of the nation, and so long as the hoop was unbroken the people flourished." Black Elk - Holy man of the Oglala Sioux.
In a circle all individuals are equal, no one is above or below another.
The circle includes everything that is, was or ever could be.
Individuals both hold each other and are held by the circle.
"Lisa, you held such a wonderful space for me and my special women and girls.
I am so grateful for you and your beautiful, natural, intuitive presence"
Nancy, 40th Birthday Women's Circle.
Circles.

“Buried inside all of us is an indigenous soul who is longing for harmonious livelihood, longing for spirit-self, longing for warmth of community, the joy of expression, the holiness of ceremony. Ignorant of this hidden hunger we stay restless and searching.”
Shirley Tassencourt, founding member of the Arizona Council of Grandmothers

Foraging.
I have been foraging wild foods for over 10 years after attending a One day course with Brigit Anna McNeill.
Wild foods add so much (free) nutrition to your diet and they connect you to the rhythms of the seasons. From Nettle smoothies to Rowan jelly, Dandelion salads and Wild Garlic Pesto.......
I enjoy leading foraging walks and introducing people to the wild foods that await our rediscovery.

Over time, chronic stress and suppressed emotions can create physical symptoms.
Receiving a massage or Reiki treatment helps to maintain health by releasing emotional and physical tension.
Giving yourself time out from external demands gives your nervous system the opportunity to relax and brings you into the present moment. This results in greater self-awareness and enables you to make better choices about your health, your relationships and your lifestyle.
"Lisa, I cannot thank you enough for this afternoon's treatment! It has really helped me in every way possible, and you truly are all about healing.
Above and beyond, you are truly inspirational and have so many qualities to give!
Thank you for your kindness beyond words"

About me.
As a child I felt a calling to Spirit, getting feelings about people and places and sensing there was something beyond what we could see or touch.
Searching for a focus for the sacred and unseen, I joined a church choir.
As a teenager I began questioning religion and it's ignoring of our dependence upon and responsibility towards the Earth.
I found myself drawn initially to the Celts and their Worldview, the belief that everything on Earth is imbued with Soul and is alive (Animism), eventually being drawn to Native Americans.
As both a child and young adult I always found solace in Nature.
Initially choosing to study Psychology at University from a desire to understand what shaped people, I found the course becoming more clinical and narrow in its focus. I wanted to see the bigger picture and look at things more holistically.
I felt a deep sense of incompleteness and homesickness for something unknown.
Then I went to a talk on The Medicine Wheel, a Native American model of the Universe and our place in it.
Something clicked and I thought "I've found what was missing!" - Earth based Spirituality - this knowing touched me so profoundly I left university aged 23, partway through my course, compelled to travel to America and connect with living Native Americans. I wanted to tell them that the spirit of their people hadn't died and that they should stay strong and be proud of their beautiful connection to the Earth.
I spent 3 months in Arizona including a week living with a Dine (Navajo) Elder on the Dine reservation and had some beautiful experiences.
I qualified as a Holistic Therapist in 1998 and was attuned to Reiki in 2000. I trained as a Forest School Leader in 2018.
Moving to Totnes in Devon in 2000 I had my first experiences of Women's Circles taking part in 'Grandmother's Circle' hosted by Detta Lang. The Grandmother's Circle was a circle structure developed in Arizona in 1994 inspired by the prophecy, “When the Grandmothers speak, the world will heal,”. I also experienced my first Sweat lodge and a Native American Pipe ceremony hosted by Rot Little Sun, an adopted Hopi.
In the last few years I have have continued my journey of healing and self-awareness with Shamanic Retreats including a Dreaming Retreat at an ancient Dreaming Temple near Lydney, Gloucester, a Grief and Sacred Rage workshop with Louise of 'Weaving Wonderment', 2 Kambo Ceremonies, Plant Medicine Ceremony, Sweat Lodge, Women's Circles and attending a week long Transformative Art Course in Italy.
I am currently continuing my learning (and deep remembering) studying a 'Cycle Power' (Menstrual Power and Cycle awareness) course through Red School and an Online Forest Bathing CPD course.
In my journey to begin sharing my experience and insights with others I have hosted Women's Circle's, Wheel of The Year Ceremonies, a Women's Healing Circle and and Wellbeing Mini Retreat.
I consider myself both an apprentice and an old Soul who is remembering all that she has been.
I would like to acknowledge my teachers on this journey:
My Spirit Guides, My Ancestors, Glennie Kindred, Detta Lang, Daniel Derby, Brigit Anna McNeill, Starhawk, Brooke Medicine Eagle, Sun Bear, Ray Mears, Pat McCabe, Jewels Wingfield, Ruth Cato, Jane Hardwicke-Collings, Alexandra Pope, Sjanie Hugo Wurlitzer and not forgetting, the Trees, Waters, Animals and all other life of this beautiful Land.
May you Walk In Beauty.
